Review of Darwin's Game
Darwin’s Game is equal parts intriguing and uneven. The opening hook is strong. It's dropping you straight into danger with that “what would you do?” tension. The series does a good job building early mystery around the rules, sigils, and alliances. However once the story expands, the pacing can get weird. Some arcs rush major events, while others drag. The worldbuilding throws cool ideas at you but without always giving them room to breathe. Kaname is an okay MC. Dude is smart and interesting, but sometimes written too conveniently heroic. The side characters range from engaging to easily forgotten. The action scenes are genuinely fun.The powers are creative. There’s a sense of chaos that makes it addictive, even when it doesn’t fully make sense. Romance elements sometimes come out of nowhere. Some internal logic slips through the cracks. The tone shifts between gritty survival and almost cartoonish convenience. But screw my opinion if you enjoy battle-royale–style with fast momentum, flashy fights, and a bit of unpredictability, Darwin’s Game is probably gonna be your entertaining choice. As long as you don’t expect everything to add up neatly.
