Review of The Seven Deadly Sins: Revival of the Commandments
Say you enjoyed the first season of 7 Deadly Sins and thought, well it's pretty good but there's not enough fighting, and the characters just aren't strong enough Well have no fear because season 2 is here, and they have basically gone lets just make everything even more ridiculous The grey demons which we all thought were a big deal not too long ago, are just wimpy little pawns to our new bad guys And as a result, of course Meliodas and the sins power up in kind Leading to some outrageous fight scenes, which I have to say left me pretty stunned Some-what sadly the story has followed thistrend of ridiculousness. Don't get me wrong i absolutely loved it, but even I laughed a couple times especially at the beginning when they were introducing the characters and villians of the season (you will see when you start watching)
Oh and Diane's dance lessons........ I'm not even going to try and understand why they thought that while every one else is training to fight the super powerful demon gods we will have Diane take dance class........
By around Episode 12 the story does start to come together a little and from then on it is just a roller coaster ride of excitement, with a mix of edge of your seat battles where your genuinely not sure who could win and fights that are over in a single mind shattering slice of a blade
Despite a few disagreements I have with how they approached the story I think the positives of the season in general greatly outweigh the negatives
And I think the main point should be, so what if the story is a little crazy, I never watched the 1st season of 7DS for complex end well thought out story line. No, I watched it so some slick fight scenes whilst getting all emotional as Hiroyuki Sawano (the composer for 7DS, AOT, Guilty Crown Kill La Kill) serenades me with his classical music
Overall I would highly recommend watching this, as although it may no be a beautifully written masterpiece i haven't enjoyed an anime as much as this in a while, but if you weren't sure about the 1st season because you already thought it was a bit silly, then might not enjoy this one..
