Review of World Trigger

Lets just get the bad stuff out of the way in regards to Toei Animation doing their usual bullshit stuff. OP at the middle? No just no. Stop it. I like openings. But theres a reason its called that. It because you OPEN the show with it. You dont stick it in the middle. If that was the point they would have been called MIDDLES instead. Im ok with a short segment before. A short Flashback or a tease of the upcoming episode. But 10 minutes in. Moments over. Pacing. Toei Animation at it again. Famous for their poor pacing with One Piece they aredoing it again here. First 3-5 min of the show is usually a flashback and some intro they have every episode. OP in the middle at 1.30. Ending segment around 2 minutes. Leaving around 15-18 minuted left for the actual show.

Animation. Not the best. Not a fan of it. But im not so stuck up on looks. More interested in the story. So ill leave it short.

So lets get to it. The story had alot of promise. The pacing was good at thr start. Throwing stuff right at you explaining the world and setting up some interesting plot points. But then it just kinda dies down. The show kinda just forgets some stuff, starts something new which usually has a boring climax and doesnt seem to be connected to some bigger overarching plot.

Music. Its ok nothing special. Same with Openings, or rather Middles as they should be called.

Overall i feel a 7 is kinda generous. But it did have alot of promise at first. Theres some segments i quite liked. Some humor was quite fun. Appreciated the ending segments. Liked the main cast. Would have liked Chika to be more active. Enjoyed some of the fights. Especially during the rank wars. Story has so much potential but its kinda wasted without a larger overarching plot focus. Pacing is bad.

Theres potential for something that could have been a 9 for me but wastes it. Its not bad for most part. But again could and should have been more. And maybe it will. Its good enough for me to give the 2nd season a go and see if it can pick up the pace and the story.

But for now World Trigger is a simple 7/10 show for me.
