Review of BOFURI: I Don't Want to Get Hurt, so I'll Max Out My Defense.
Weird is Best~! This is by far the most wholesome and feels good VRMMORPG anime. Immediately, what makes Bofuri stand out from the rest is the fact that there is no antagonist. No bad guy. Not even annoying characters. Everybody is super nice and genuinely just wants to have fun while playing this game. Even if they're enemies during an event they'll revert to being friends afterward. That said, this is also the only anime that makes me want to play a video game after watching it. The reasons I love playing video games are all here and that's making friends, finding new creatures and areas, and aslew of random quests. The story can be reduced to FUN.
Even though the main character is another protagonist that is OP I also find it refreshing that she's not the best player in the game. She's still a noobie who is playing the game her way, she just happens to be popular because of the way her OP abilities manifest.
This was the perfect show to rewatch at the end of 2020. I feel so revitalized and ready for what's to come.
