This is more of a storytelling tool than a music video but well, that’s the kind of project Kagerou Daze is. The animation with its sketch-like style is quite nice, until it starts to feel repetitive. Which by itself is a feat considering this is just a few minutes long video. Too much of said video is unfortunately basically a looping gif with changing background. The music is alright, not exactly memorable but not bad either. That’s only for the instrument music though, the vocaloid singing unfortunately still sounds as pleasant as chalk scratching on a blackboard to me. That is just a personal preference thoughand I know there are people who enjoy it.

Without the context it doesn’t make much sense and would be a meh experience. With the context of the story, it’s still only alright – it is just a background character backstory, though one that has somewhat larger influence on the story overall it’s not something I would call my favourite part out of the whole plot of the intertwined plod. Well, Kagerou Project storytelling is quite a mess, but that’s for a whole another review.
