I haven't written a review in a long time. Kanata no Astra changed that almost immediately. Kanata no Astra is not so attractive if you just read reviews or the synopsis, it's just not that appealing to most avid viewers that I know. This is purely subjectively speaking, of course, but from what I know, a lot fans tend to lean over the much cliché genres like action or fantasy. Sci-fi and space dramas need some warming up to before people can actually watch it, based on experience. With that said, I can almost assure you that Kanata no Astra would be a total eye-opener foryou. Even if you're an avid sci-fi or space fan, you would find this series worth the unproductive watching hours.

The Story:

It's a space survival adventure. It has a LOT of plot twists. It's super intense and the thrills will really take your breath away. You want chills down your spine? This is the anime you are looking for. (I will not say specifics about the story because you really ought to watch this.)

Art:

Lerche is a good studio, I love their art.

Sound:

Pretty normal for me, didn't tug on my heartstrings unlike Vinland Saga's opening or Aldnoah.Zero's soundtrack music. Voice acting is top-notch, of course.

Characters:

The characters aren't boring to watch, surprisingly. They have a lot of individuality and their varying personalities really make the moments in the series colorful.

Enjoyment:

Haven't felt like this since Code Geass. 10/10

Edit: Has closure and a very satisfying ending.

I totally recommend this series! A must watch!

My verdict: 9 out of 10!
