Double House is listed as a yuri/romance on here, but it's not. It's about the friendship between two women who are neighbors, both of whom don't really fit into society's expectations. Both of them also work the night shift, emphasizing that they operate a little differently than the rest of society. The story is rather slice-of-life-y, and it does a good job of fleshing out the characters by showing little snippets of their life here and there. They feel like real people, and not just caricatures (which happens in some manga, unfortunately). The art style is simple and spare, but also gorgeous; the mangaka hasa great sense of composition.

Overall, it was just very cute and wholesome and I really enjoyed it. I would recommend it if you want to read something upbeat about the friendship between two women.

Btw, one of my worries as I began reading this was that the trans character would be depicted mockingly. That was really not at all the case. Her character was well done, and it was very respectful and sympathetic.
