This had potential and I liked it at first. Art was fine. Characters looked fine but the battle and action scenes were rough at times. Key action panels didn't really pop and battle sequences felt more like explanations rather than battles. Plot and development started off very strong in my opinion at the start. The setup along with the initial character introductions and dynamics between the two main characters were interesting and showed promise for unique deviation from similar stories like Death March or Shield Hero. However, towards the end of the manga the narrative got a bit boring and dragged on; newly introduced characters weren'treally fleshed out, battles weren't really battles and were more like excuses to dump annoyingly long explanations on how the setting's world works, and focus was shifted away from the interesting main duo and instead towards characters that I don't really care about.

The conclusion was not good because there was no conclusion. The manga was abruptly canned when the last chapter, at the time of writing this review, introduced a cliffhanger. I have no hope for a continuation as the author's social media has supposedly been silent for months so the web novel is MIA, the publisher for the light novel went under, and the manga was canned at a point where the story was caught up to the other source materials.

I really had hopes for this as I very much enjoyed the initial setup for this manga. I personally believe it had a lot of promise as the main duo was interesting with a good trajectory for character development. However, poor execution of world building and introducing arcs that focused too much on things other than the main duo really hurt my final impression of this manga. It's a shame, really, but I unironically believe this could have been something decently good if executed differently and with a little more care and patience.
