Beastars Final Season Part 2 · review
Spoiler warning
This review may discuss plot details.
Beastars had everything it needed to be a great show, but it stumbled due to a narrative that lost its momentum and focus. The biggest mistake was the neglect of character development: it’s not enough to introduce imposing figures like Yahya and Gosha just to move the plot along; you have to keep them relevant. It feels as though the author abandoned essential plot threads, such as the mystery of the devouring at school and the secondary romances, in an attempt to resolve everything in the final minutes. When a work has to use the credits to explain the fate of each central character, it’s asure sign that the script failed in its construction. It’s a shame, because the universe was vast, but the conclusion was lazy.
