while The Second Contract is not as good as the first part of The Fable, I still personally give it a 10. The Fable's first part ends quite nicely and I didn't think it would need a sequel, but hearing the announcement of a sequel I waited untill all the chapters were released and read it in a single sitting. The Second Contract feels sudden, the author used Covid as an influence for the story and it's happenings, and it does feel like a way for the author to complain about his problems with the epidemic. the story is sudden, kinda like the epidemic. the start has afeeling of "oh i guess we are still going" and Akira and Youko get yanked back to the action. as a fan of mafia stories and especially Korean gangster movies, the story was entertaining for me. I wish some side character would have had more screen time, but with less chapter, I expected something to get cut down.

the art style is still clean and the humor is the same from the first manga, depending if you liked these aspects from The Fable, The Second Contract is not going to change your mind.

and to anyone planning to read The Fable and The Second Contract, i recommend reading them back to back. The Second Contract is not as good as the first, but if you crave for more of The Fable this is definitely a good read.
