Review of Redo of Healer

This show is extremely controversial, and for good reason. If you're wondering whether you would like this, assume no. But the biggest issue with this show lies not in the controversial aspects of it, but rather in it's massive flaws in story and writing that fail to make it anything more than a controversial show. Why is it so controversial? There's enough of that here to go all day listing all the controversial stuff but obviously that's pretty pointless. The gist is, it's got outright Hentai scenes that show everything but the stuff that would legally have to be censored in Japan every single 5 minutes.It's got every single kind of disturbing kink in it, and for the most part, it's there just for that.

This show absolutely has some redeeming qualities, that are also controversial but still. The main plot centers around the MC's revenge. The Hentai scenes here aren't all there just to make you horny like actual Hentai, some are used to make the show darker and show just how messed up the stuff that happened to the MC was so his revenge could have real meaning. And yet, this show in addition to the scenes with meaning to the plot, decides to throw in "regular" Hentai scenes every 5 minutes, for literally no reason. This stupidly jarring change in tone does not help an already controversial show in the least, especially when those scenes have literally 0 significance to the plot in comparison to the other ones. Personally those scenes just brought annoyance for me every time they have a Hentai scene for the sake of nothing but being horny. It simply detracts from the ability to use those scenes for "dark" or actual meaningful purposes. Now what about the plot? What if you don't mind "regular" Hentai scenes showing up every 5 minutes and they don't detract from the show for you? Well, you're out of luck, as this show doesn't really succeed at catering to horny people who just wanna see Hentai or people wanting a dark show. The plot had it's moments, but the sheer udder lack of writing quality leaves the whole thing doing nothing at the end of the day. The MC has a stupid amount of depth to his revenge. Yet after putting in all that work to make his revenge have meaning, the show starts doing crap with the writing and keeps making random attempts that are bad at best to try and provide growth for him. This show kept acting like it's main character is developing when he starts getting his revenge and he himself acts like he's "developing" as he gets his revenge, but every single time this show attempts to make growth for him it does it with the most lazy writing possible and makes the growth meaningless. It ends with the MC saying he "believes in his revenge" over anything else and he walks backwards to where he started before that growth. Doing all that work to make seem like he's "growing" for nothing, because it did nothing. Having writing that goes nowhere, or even worse, writing that goes somewhere but then gets "scrapped" and made pointless by the plot is just bad writing. He doesn't grow or change at all after deciding to get his revenge the first few episodes.

Let's not even get into the characters, outside of the MC there are basically only 2 types of characters. 1. They join the MC in the end and basically are only there for Hentai purposes. 2. They're essentially a background character and have no real meaning to the plot, they'll die off screen, or be made out to be something amazing and the show never actually comes back to them doing anything amazing.

I've tried my very best to detail what exactly makes this show outright bad, but with how controversial it is and how the poor writing mixes with it, it's hard to give an exact idea of what makes the wiring bad without having watched the show. Take it from me, if you're curious about what makes this show bad like I was, trust me, it's not worth it. If you don't understand my review, watching this show will probably let this all make sense, but I wouldn't recommended it. If this show wasn't controversial it would've been an "OK" at best watch. But realistically it's a controversial show that's nearly impossible to sanely recommend, and it's plot and story aren't nearly good enough to make up for it's controversial aspects. So it's a 4/10 that could've been decent if it's writing and plot were better but still wouldn't have been recommendable.

Seriously, if there was ever a show that isn't going to be worth your time, and I would tell you to watch anything else regardless, this would be one of them, and there's not many shows I can say that about.
