Review of Suzume

I think it might be because I was waiting along long time for the release of this film but even though other people will say its not Shinkai's best work, to me it is. Shinkai decided to take a more serious approach with this film and I loved the concept of it being a Roadtrip style film with many places reflecting disasters or "problems" (as put by Shinkai) that Japan faces. I thought the length of the film was particularly good, it told what it wanted without expanding it unnecessarily. There is a few hidden messages/symbologys that might take some thinking to understand but searchingsome of it up can be interesting.

The music also a lot more serious, following less pop style music and more Traditional instrumentation being used and that was problably one of my favourite components of the film. It comes together really well and it makes it special.
