Review of Ya Boy Kongming!
Paripi Koumei was an anime that fits exactly into my taste. A brilliant three-kingdom strategist, Koumei is reincarnated in modern Japan. He finds himself surprisingly quickly in the new reality thanks to meeting Eiko, a beginner singer, whom he decided to help make her dreams come true. Initially, I expected the series to focus more on Koumei's adaptation to the modern world. However, for a genius, he quickly got used to the new reality after spending hours on Wikipedia. Instead, the plot focuses on Koumei's actions to fulfil Eiko's dream of becoming a singer and her journey to becoming famous. The path they chose creates obstaclesfor them and we observe their development on the way to success. Koumei changes his tactics and learns from the mistakes he made in his previous life. He changes his attitude and decided not to win no matter the sacrifices and wants everybody to be happy. On the other hand, Eiko bounces off the bottom and gains confidence in what she does and what she strives for. I liked that Eiko was not introduced as a genius singer, but as a beginner with a good voice which still has room for development. In addition to the main characters, we get other interesting characters that add their three cents to the series and are not idle for events and work on their own.
An interesting idea of anime is historical inserts from the times of the three kingdoms. While Koumei uses a lot of strategies from his past life in the present, the anime provides us with information about the actual historical events that took place, giving us a broader picture of the events.
It is necessary to mention anime music. In anime, we have a lot of different music artists and genres. I personally liked the songs and the opening theme was catchy and I liked the animation very much.
I highly recommend watching Paripi Koumei. It will be a pleasant screening for people who want to watch a light story about the way to fulfil their dreams accompanied by good music.
