Review of Parasyte: The Maxim
Kiseijuu: Sei no Kakuritsu really has something special to it... It's one of these animes in which I was initially looking for horror, but stayed for the plot and beautiful art style. This anime has a great aftertaste - it lifts you up and makes you think. Even though I found quite a few things to nitpick, overall I really enjoyed the story. This anime has something I haven't observed before - it can shift the mood in a matter of seconds, but do it so effortlessly that it feels natural. One moment you'll have adrenaline rushing through your body, but the other - eyeswet from tears. Despite what turns the plot would take, it felt natural, nothing seemed forced just ''for the sake of story''. And, honestly, that intro just kept me going. It fits the anime (and my music taste) perfectly.
I don't really want to go much in details, but if you're somebody who is looking for a good bit of action-packed horror that goes along with a non-linear drama-filled storyline, this anime is a good place to start.
