Review of ReLIFE
ReLife is still one of my favorite romantic comedies thus far. Reason being is that this anime is so cute and enjoyable. I usually dislike how romantic comedies turn really melodramatic really quickly but this anime does a great job balanacing it all out. The story is amazingly really relatable. Although I'm not an adult, I did graduate high school and watching the anime through Kazaki's view(an adult) surprisingly made me realize how different high school is compared to other parts of life. The characters are absolutely adorable and likable. I LOVE the main MC and heroine and I LOVE the supporting cast, everyone isjust so helpful, understanding, and funny. Before I go off tangent about how much I love this anime lets get right into the review.
Story: 9/10
The story isn't unique. I've watched 17 again and other "high school again" storylines but this is really unique in the fact that everyone loses their memories after the experiment is over. This issue becomes an apparent problem later on in the anime/manga but it's an interesting concept of "no one is going to remember me so should I do whatever I want or should I just do my best in the present. I liked the storyline as it's well done and developed really well. Everything makes sense and because of the clarity and unique aspects of the story I give it a 9/10.
Art: 9/10
I really liked the art. They integrated a lot of the webtoon art into the anime so it has it's own distinct feeling but the characters look great and the emotions they put forth is HILARIOUS. I love the little faces the main MC or the main heroine make as they tease their other classmates. Other than that, I had trouble distinguishing two characters while watching the anime but other than that the art is solid and really fits well with the story.
Sound: 10/10
I usually am very lenient on my sound rating because in most anime, the voice acting is pretty top notch and ReLife is no slouch in that category. The OP is really cute, although the beginning makes it look like a super old anime, I REALLY like the op.
Character: 10/10
THE CHARACTERS ARE AWESOME. ALL OF THEM ARE GREAT. ALL OF THEM. The main MC is AWESOME AND REALISTIC. He thinks just how a guy thinks and is righteous is in own ways. The way he approaches the situation he's put in is very mature and he is HILARIOUS. He loves to tease his friends but also knows when to joke and mess around. Hishiro is one of the typical "I'm the best student in the class with no social skills" heroine but she's funny in her own ways. The way she smiles and handles social situations is just enjoyable. There's nothing really special about her but with character is well balanced and she isn't frustrating to watch unlike many socially awkward characters in other anime. The other side characters are amazing in the sense that they just get what's going on. They're aware of their surroundings and their shortcomings. Everyone has problems and this anime makes it clear that despite everyone's problems, people must go through them to become better people. And the side characters help the main MC and main heroine realize these important lessons in life.
Overall, I enjoyed this anime. I went into it not expecting much but I ended up loving it. Everything about this anime touched me in the right ways and the main attraction of this anime has to be its relatebility. Every lesson is a lesson that can be applied in real life and that's the best part of this anime. I recommend this anime to EVERYONE. I'm currently reading ReLife and it gets better trust me. I eagerly await it's new chapter everyday so that goes to show how much I love ReLife.
