"Le vent se lève il faut tenter de vivre", The Wind is rising, we must try to live. - Paul Valery, Initially, this quote may be of little importance to the viewer; however, by the end of this masterpiece, it will carry significant weight. The Wind Rises, despite it's score here on My Anime List, should be regarded as Miyazaki's grande finale. Everything in this film has been crafted so perfectly, I couldn't help but cry, and I am one who is usually not in touch with my emotions. From start to finish, the wind rises's characters, soundtrack and artwork will immerse you in the world ofJapan 1914-1945, following a boy into his dream and beyond.

It should be noted that, this film, unlike most Ghibli films, leaves a slight melancholic taste, might be the work of Miyazaki's final goodbye or Hideaki Anno as voice actor. That is perhaps what brings this movie on an earth-scale, and makes it more emotional than ever (not including Grave Of The Fireflies).

Also news begin to stir that, Miyazaki might not retire completely like we were told, I hope it isn't true, because this film, is a great finale to a wondrous career.
