Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari (2019) STORY: Four guys from another world pulled to fight for an unknown world to them. All start off well weapon wise except our main hero who has a shield. Although seen as a weak tool it is not and can be used in various ways. The heroes cannot wield anything but the weapons they hold so they must make do. Initially, the world our protagonist finds himself in a world that dislikes the shield for unknown reasons and ends up with a single party member soon to accuse him of a Goblin Slayer episode 1 style traumatic event. The herothen moves on building his party (into a harem) and fights this world that is against him, although not forever. What does he fight? The waves, yes just like a game wave 1 commences etc. Ultimately the story shows the progression of the hero and his party and how the others develop thinking it is just a game. With the hero the only one truly of the four taking it seriously.

ART:
The art style used in this is great, it shows off a real nice essence. The female characters are nicely done and don’t show too much fan service. It has a more mature feeling to the women. The guys show a nice detail also, very suitable for the series. All characters who are outside the main, enemy and hero parties also are done in a good depth of detail.

SOUND:
The sound is fitting throughout with the correct style of music as the series goes on. The OP and ED are both really nice to listen too. As a whole the sounds are very much on point. Even bring emotion out when needed. (Shed a few tears).

CHARACTER:
Character development is great. The main protagonist and his party are all shown in depth on their stories as the show goes forward. The side characters are involved too, and the other heroes and their party members even have good involvement in developing to make a nice all-round development.

ENJOYMENT:
The first few episodes fill you with rage against certain characters. The next few relief as our hero pushes through. The back-story episodes show some real emotion that you bring out emotionally. (shed a tear remember). The resolution of the rage in the beginning is truly satisfying and fills you with a sense of victory. The rest of them are just great and enjoyable to the end. The final episode brings out a lovely sense of accomplishment and wholesomeness.

OVERALL:
In the end this is a series not for all, but it has a nice harem that is not over the top. A great main character and party which envelopes a variety of emotions that really puts you in the seat. The story is interesting and changing even with the linear main line story going from wave to wave. Ultimately, this is kept short so you can enjoy this as much as I have, as this is a spectacular series that I hope is renewed into a new season with the same length of episodes.

*This review has been done to give as little away as possible by not referring to characters actual names to avoid spoiling the series.
*Other anime mentioned in the review is because they are worth watching and make great examples.
