Review of School Days
The only reason I decided to even finish this series after dropping it a couple years ago was because the ending was spoiled for me, just to see how it got that bad - If you tried watching this and couldn't bare it, watch the ending, then try finish it. This is the adaptation of a VN wherein every single bad option was picked on every single occasion. Thus all the characters are shallow, self-centred people throughout, and the main character seems like a genuine psychopath with no concern for anyone's emotions, sometimes even his own petty feelings. Even my favourite character was revealed to bethe same type of manipulative nutjob, making this far and beyond any type of school romance anime you will ever see. In the end, you're left wondering if the only reason you forced yourself to watch it is because of some sick masochism; or just morbid curiosity as to how bad things could really get.
Unfortunately, there isn't too much redeeming about it, there was some points where the anime was bearable and seemed like your typical cute rom-com anime, but it was inter-spaced with relationship drama, or random "introspective" shots of this brick-wall, boring-sociopath MC.
In the end, this anime can be summarised in one word. "Why?"
