Review of High School DxD
High School DxD is just one of those shows you get into watching as a cultured recommendation but can't stop watching once you get going. After a few re-watches, I can only say that the story felt more and more engaging every time. I rate the story of season one 7, as it may feel a tat lacking at times- although it definitely makes up for it in *other areas.* (More on that later.) The art is just great, not much to say. Even if it's not my preferred art style, not all anime can be Violet Evergarden, and I think the animation is really smooth themajority of the time.
The audio is great, good both subbed and dubbed- and the OPs are definitely catchy and memorable.
The characters are a 7 for me, but that's mostly applying to the first season, as there hadn't been much chance to explore them in-depth. Mostly you can make out the characters from a quirk of theirs, or... uh... parts of the character if you catch my drift. ;)
The enjoyment factor is probably the most important point here, where I'll give it a 10/10. I mean, this is not just a guilty pleasure anime, it has PLOT, and *plot*, action, great art and animation.. I mean, what's not to like?
For the reason above, season one receives an overall rating of 8 from me.
And it only gets better as the seasons move along!
