Review of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (2009)

English Name: The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi (2009) Let's be honest, the only reason this season is horrible is because of the Endless Eight Arc, the fact that it covers a little more then half of the season just ruins The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi Season 2. The only thing that keeps this season from becoming any lower then an "okay" rating is the fact that the rest of the season besides Endless is actually good and has the same quality as the first season of Suzumiya Haruhi. Postives: + Episodes 1, 9 - 14 all have good pacing and a nice story to tell + Mikuru, Haruhi, Kyon,Tsuruya are all amazing characters
+ Good animation
+ A better OP then the first season ('Super Driver')
+ While not a better ED then the first season I still really enjoyed 'Tomare!' (or 'Stop!')

Neutral:
= Koizumi has always been a mediocre character for me but I felt like he was worse in this season then in the first
= I could care less for Kyon's friends Taniguchi and Kunikida and they somehow get more screentime this time around

Negatives:
- Endless Eight could've been more unique and have different events that happened in each episode or even could've been 4 episodes
- I never quite understood why Nagato Yuki was a popular character, she's important but she doesn't really do anything other then when she needs too (maybe this will change once I watch the movie)

Final Verdict: As you can see I really don't despise this season but the Endless Eight arc really made this season have a bad taste in my mouth. I still recommend watching this season but maybe watch the Endless Eight Arc in 2x speed.
