This is not one of those specials you want to skip. The slightly slower pace sets the tone for telling a story through the years of the characters hearts and the cencorship driven world that will put them to the test. The direction and dialogue brings everything together beatifully to make it a very enjoyable episode. After watching Toshokan Sensou back to back this special is a great change of air. Atsushi and Kasahara take the back seat and the focus is set on Komaki's past and present with his friend. By today's standards the main series and this episode look great. More specials should have this level ofcare and quality.
