Words cannot describe how much I love this anime. Meet Haruhi Suzumiya. She is looking for some spice/variety in her life. She wishes to find an alien, time traveler, and an esper. She decides to form a club to find those things. She recruits our protagonist Kyon, the time traveler Mikuru, the alien Yuki, and the esper Koizumi. Turns out, Haruhi is a goddess who could wish for something, and it would happen. Although, Haruhi does not know about that. The show has a slice of life/supernatural setting. It involves everyday things/or club activities, with a supernatural twist. The characters are all so unique and fleshed out.Haruhi is an energetic girl who wants to find something exciting/new. Something that would not happen in your everyday life. She is extremely energetic. Deep down, she really cares for her friends, and loves them dearly.
-
Mikuru has two versions of herself — her older version, and her younger version. Her younger self is extremely shy and kind. She typically cosplays in whatever costume Haruhi wants her to cosplay in, and she hands out tea to the brigade members.
On the other hand, her older version is clever and witty. Not to mention extroverted. She does a lot to help out Haruhi and Kyon.
-
Yuki is an alien. She is reserved and calm. She has the power to control things, and uses that ability. She is quite the mysterious character.
-
Koizumi is an esper, who is trying to prevent the world from ending because of Miss Suzumiya’s anger. Therefore, he often tries pleasing her. He is a calm and patient person, who has a positive outlook on life.
-
Kyon is the protagonist. He tends to get annoyed easily. Though he also wants an interesting life, he still is content with the life that he is currently in. His and Haruhi’s relationship is interesting and complex.

The music is amazing. The openings and endings for S1 and S2 are great. My personal favorite is the ending in S2. It is a catchy song, that will always put you in a good mood.

The art style is again, great. It always gives me good vibes.

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya is a wonderful series that I highly recommend checking out.
