Review of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (2009)

Story For purposes of this review, I will be referring to episode 12 to 28 as season 2 since I watched the series in chronological order. First and forsemost the season begins with the infamous Endless Eight arc. This was a ballsy creative decision from the studio and I think it did not pay off. It suceeds in making you feel frustrated and irate. The first, second, and eight episodes are the most essential of the eight. The rest of the season has some pacing issues as it takes too long for stuff to happen. Slighty better than the first season, but still not very good. Art Greatanimation and art style

Sound

I like the first season opening and ending more, but this seaons music is fairly good. God Knows is a great song

Character

Not too different from season 1. Main reason for me to watch the show is to see how insufferable Haruhi can be and how the other characters react to her. Many are still one note and dont contribute much.

Enjoyment

Aside from the painfal endless eight, the rest of the season was alright. Nothing special other than a one episode in universe home made movie. The series had so much potential but squandered it. It definitively could have been better.

Overall

Nothing special. Very average. Hard to recommend. Just watch a few clips here and there
