Okay this is my first time (writing a review)*, please be gentle... The name really got me. The first time I heard of this anime, I thought it's about a group of kids researching on flowers, or some sort. I never expected it to turn out to be such a heartwrentching, tearjerking, overwhelmingly emotional anime that has the ability to make proud, hardcore fans of *insert gory anime* cry like a baby. Yes, I cried, I sobbed, I weeped, I wailed, I tore my hair, I sunk in a cozy cozy corner of my room hugging my favorite Teddy while crying out, 'I'm sorry mum!'Yes, it's that touching, especially the last episode. If a picture of me watching the last episode ever gets out, I can never run for presidency. I cried like a human, but this just proves one point, I may be something fit for your feet, but I'm a pair of socks with feelings, I've got a soul!

Story: 9/10

The story is very original, and the flow of the anime is very comfortable, neither too fast nor slow. The tender moments are tender, the heartwarming moments are heartwarming, and the 'Man, I wanna punch the sh*t out of this guy' moments are.... Well you get what I mean. The overall feelings of the anime are very well conveyed to the audience, thus maximizing the emotional involvement of the characters. The only qualms I have are the lack of explanations for certain parts of the story, for example, the histories of the main characters could be better explained; how did they come about, what else did they do when they were young... stuff like that. But then again, it's a relatively short anime, so it's already very impressive.

Art: 8/10
The art of the anime is very clearcut, very clean. Minor details are well taken care of, like how the fingers twirl around the hair. Nothing to complain about.
Side note: Menma looks so cute, I wish I can give her a candy bar.

Sound: 9/10

God yes, the music! You really couldn't get a more suitable opening and ending songs for this anime, especially the ending. Love it!

Characters: 9/10
Great character development. I can see how each of them grow from lost little lambs, to sensible cows coming home. Interaction between characters are enjoyable, even if it's a little angsty at times. Lots of dialogues and various soliloquy makes the characters human-like. Throughout the show, I have come to love, hate, and sometimes smpathize with the main crew, which is really rare for UnwashedSocks

Enjoyment: 10/10
Really, whats there not to enjoy? Everytime I watched a really good anime, a little part of me dies, knowing that there is one less anime for me to love. This is one such anime.

Overall: 9/10
A MASTERPIECE OF IT'S GENRE, HIGHLY RECOMMENEDED
