8.1/10 Generic isekais: We’ve all read them dozens of times, and it’s hard to come across one that looks promising, but I must say that this is exactly that — a generic isekai done right. There’s, of course, cliches and predictable plot points in this story, but in each execution of the now tiresome development, it’s presented reasonably, making the story seem well-paced and balanced. The plot isn’t ambitious, but it settles for that — instead, the story focuses on taking an approach where each cliche or development is either humorous or well-grounded, making for a fun read. The mc is probably the highlight of this story,as he acts according to his character, and he doesn’t make you facepalm or cringe every 5 panels, which is a major accomplishment for an isekai protagonist. As for the side characters, they all act human — in other words, none of those BS characters that are “evil for the sake of evil.”
A more wholesome approach to the isekai genre that avoids most of the “bad” cliches, but it isn’t too wholesome where the story becomes jarring and challenge-less. It’s just a fun story with its humor and pacing.
