Kichiku, Encount · review
Been years since the last time I read this. I like the seme (I like Aomine), so I'm a bit biased. I also have a soft spot for bully-to-lover dynamics. But even then it's real, REAL hard to ignore the abundance of SA tropes used here. As another review has said somewhere, this manga is a collection of cheap hentai tropes being repurposed for BL. Together with the OBVIOUS visual archetypes used for the seme and the uke, it's clear that this is not a story that takes itself seriously. It might have been fine if that's the extent of the story, but then midway the storytakes a U-turn towards romance, adding angst and yearning and whatnot. And even THEN, the dubcon remains.
I actually like the feelings part of the story, even now. The final yearning from the seme still touches my heart.
But the rest...yeah. I can do without. YOU can do without.
