Soul Land: Sword Master · review
The animation and visuals are easily the best part of this movie. They are top-tier and honestly carry the entire experience. However, I would only recommend watching this movie after finishing the main Soul Land series. If you’re still watching the show, this movie will feel confusing and hard to follow. The story itself is weak and tries to connect to the main Soul Land plot series, but it doesn’t work very well. Because of that, the movie feels unnecessary. Making Rong Rong one of the main leads was also a bad decision. She comes across as annoying, spoiled, and insufferable—just like in the series, buteven worse in the movie.
Overall, the movie isn’t worth watching for the story. It’s mostly forgettable. That said, if you’re a Soul Land fan and just want to enjoy high-quality animation and visuals, it’s still worth checking out for that reason alone.
Overall:
Animation & Visuals: 9/10.
Story & Plot wise: 4/10
