Exile Adventurer Redo · review
This series has been inconsistently updated across the years due to being neglected over more popular series and wish-washy scanlation groups. The story here is the usual "MC gets betrayed by the party for meager reasons so he goes on his own and becomes stronger" route. It's a little pleasing there is no ISEKAI here, but the blaring issues can't be ignored. Pro-wise, the only good point centers on Glen being very resolved and determined to stick to his beliefs. I would even say he has more grit and grip than a majority of the other MCs in this category. Sadly this is the only good aspect ofthis entire story.
Glen is unusually hard on himself to the point where it becomes very lame. An MC can only embrace self-wallowing and shame to a certain degree before it's just...terrible. On top of that, the story is accelerating very fast. The author expects us to be okay with seeing Glen and assume we are cool with knowing next to nothing about the guy.
There are too many plot holes and missing details surrounding the "childhood friend" aspect and it will interfere with any emotional buildup in this story.
So yeah, I don't feel its needed to read this series even if it has a ton of views.
