A Beautiful Body · review
The average score is only earned by the beautiful art and character design. The plot is pretty bland and the relationship between Yuji and Michiru does not seem plausible, their coming together is not particularly interesting or satisfying, their bond is pretty superficial. It honestly seemed to me the important thing was arriving to the smut part but the climax to it wasn’t emotionally compelling. The characters are not really well constructed, Michiru was somewhat interact the beginning but later on was painfully dependent and passive and Yuji is really dislikeable at times. If have to say something nice I would say there are some cutemoments but they are very fast, I really hoped for more of them because it would’ve made the romance more enjoyable and plausible.
Also I didn’t really liked the frequent allusion to rape and (spoiler alert) the way Michiru uses self harm to gain autonomy to his body and life is somewhat not necessary to the plot or the character growth in the story, I disliked this kind of sub text, but I’m open to other perspectives about it
