here were things ABOUT IT that impressed me. There were things about it i really hated. and there's something appalling happening in almost every chapter i thought the storyboarding was alright the execution was unpredictable, sometimes good, sometimes bad the worldbuilding was interesting and serviceable, especially at first when it was about something crazy and reality-bending like magic being made mundane and commonplace, having all the wonder sucked out of it and monetized into paid apps I thought it was relatively smart to start the webcomic off from the perspective of this detective who is trying to track down the protagonist committing these eye-catching murders and acts of retribution. thecharacter writing is not deep - the villains, from the bit players up to the main antagonists, are all completely, utterly, comically horrible people and total stereotypes. think of the worst (and offensive) stereotype of person you can think of and make them also drown a litter of puppies. There's also an offputting tone that seeps in from the author into the work sometimes. i don't know how else to explain it...
the humor and story beats "can be" very gross and off-color (in the first chapter, the main character stops a serial rapist whose MO is to dress as a woman to approach victims) and definitely lend the work an atmosphere i'd describe as irreverent.
the magic fight scenes are awful and when those started being the focus of the work it got a lot less interesting

the earlier arcs have some things going for them
later on it gets sloppy and tiresome and i dropped it
it kept me turning chapters especially in the earlier arcs but the slop it turned into later on, the tropey and insanely evil villains and near constant and flippant portrayal of sexual violence (this guy is a killer pervert, this guy is a rapey 40 yo neet, this guy is a cult leader who Fargo woodchippers gullible old women down into mysterious pills while raping younger ones, etc) makes me want to rate it lower
