Isshou Hatarakitakunai Ore ga Classmate no Daininki Idol ni Natsukaretara · review

Another read from my "picking random mangas and giving it a read" journey. It definitely didn't disappoint but didn't amaze me too much too. The story starts with a boy, our male lead, staring at and introducing the readers to the female lead. The female lead being an idol, and that of an extremely popular group, with a prolific career in the tv industry too is constantly surrounded by her classmates and is treated as an object of perfection. Whereas on the other hand, our male lead is a normal school boy with seemingly no special abilities to differentiate him. It looks something familiar. Isn't itthe common subtrope of the romance genre "popular-girl-and-not-so-popular-boy"? Yes it is.
The only thing which makes this manga and the male lead a little different from the others is his dream of being a househusband and possessing some good culinary skills. Having a basic plot of the subtrope, art is great to deserve a 8 from me. Character designs are absolutely gorgeous (especially that of the female lead) and the presence of a classic femboy is never too old.
Now onto the things which I don't like cause every thing has a flaw or two. But this has a little more namely: Plot and Characters.
The thing which I don't like is how the female lead reaches the male leads house and ends up sleeping in the house in less than 3-4 chapters. They ignored all the development and progress that they could have shown and instead used his culinary skills as an excuse for the female lead to hire him cause "she never had food as delicious as this" gaining access to the house so easily making it look a lot rushed. Another is the clumsy character of the female lead. The behavior is not the problem but the rushing of the plot and cheap fanservice that comes with it is. I mean who doesn't like fanservice but to use it to fasten the relationship. And mind it all this happened in 5 chapters only. This definitely has a lot more potential if upcoming chapters doesn't use this to escape the development between the couple as I heard its light novel is good.
