To chase an overwhelming force beyond humanity's reach. Tenkuu no Shiro Laputa or Castle in the sky is an old one dating back to 1986. I don't feel the nostalgia value in it (or it probably would be higher than it already is) but it has the advantage of being drawn up by the storytelling legends of studio ghibli. Being a one-shot there's no room for filler, everything is content and the story is compelling and brilliant. It's old the graphics aren't half bad. It's not super cutesy or cool like more modern animes but it has a more cartoon/down-to-earth feel. The sounds are sometimeslacking, when the MC pair crashes you hear nothing but soft peaceful music/silence but this is definitely made up for by the brilliant orchestra. The characters are sterling silver especially the pirates! I would have loved to see more of the miners a reunion for the ending would have been perfect as they played a big part in keeping the duo MC's safe. What mysteries and powers dwell within Laputa that caused its residents to abandon it? Does humanity want to know? Do we deserve to know? Maybe its fate is better off left in the hands of humanity's children such as Pazu and Sheeta. Find out by watching Tenkuu no Shiro Laputa the castle in the sky!
