I watched all 62 episodes in the English dub and the VAs are so fitting for each character. Gon and Killua actually sound like kids and I noticed they add little voice cracks to make it sound realistic. Compared to the 2011 version, 1999 goes more into depth with the characters and it is very slow paced, actually taking its time for us to know each character. For example, I loved how they introduced Kite in the first episode and detailed Gons motivations for being a hunter and actually showed Aunt Mitos hesitation, they gave her more personality in this version unlike the 2011 version, the first episode Gon just rushes and leaves Whale island and immediately meets Kurapika and Leorio. We got to see more into Gons love of animals, which is a small detail I enjoyed.

Hanzo is actually funny asf in the dub, his scenes had me cracking up every second.

I also loved the scene during the hunter exam where all the competitors were stranded on the island, I had more respect for Kurapika because it slowly began to show his leadership skills, and personality.

When I compare the OSTs for 1999 and 2011. I honestly prefer the 2011s version because it's super upbeat and keeps you hyped in a good mood. The 1999 is alright, the soundtrack definitely fits the theme and art style and also feels super nostalgic, and very mature.

I prefer 1999s art style to 2011. Everyone looks so cool and badass 1999 style, 2011 seems more bright and childish looking but that doesn't mean it's bad of course.

Overall it's a really good series! It's just disappointing that it was only 62 episodes :( I was looking forward to the Chimera ant arc, I'm sure it would have been more dark especially if they were going in to Gyros story.
