I was very excited to see a second season of Tales of Demons and Gods was airing but sadly it isn't more of the main story and just random bs instead. If you have 170 chapters of the main story to cover why bother having an entire season dedicated to side stories? Given the horrible cgi this show is made entirely out of I think it is fair to assume anyone bothering to watch it is probably doing so because they have read and love the manhua and loved the main story, so having things like "oh no this person is in danger" in a sidestory is a total waste of time when you see them a hundred chapters later and completely ok in the manhua. Not to mention this means that the 100+ chapters that have yet to be covered will take even longer to actually get animated and given the fact this is a low budget web series that means we may never get a season 3 or see the real plot progress.

I'm glad to be getting a season 2 of this show, I just wish it mattered.

The series itself is still absolutely fantastic and one of the most interesting I have ever read. Also unlike similar action series it has a steady power progression and not constant random powerups pulled out of nowhere. To the credit of this season of side stories it is still up to par with the main series, just a bit forced.
