Review of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2

Doesn't live up to the hype. Like, it's okay. Don't get me wrong. Worth it to watch just for the flashy animations. But... somehow the story seemed to lack substance and the pacing is all over the place. This is again one of those anime where I feel like they could have done more with the characters. I was so excited when I saw who the villain was and his potential as a really interesting villain... but surprised surprise, just the same old formula. Some of the battles were incredibly random. Like that giant white overpowered dude in the last few episodes that showed out of nowherewith no build-up or explanation whatsoever. Just felt like they had some leftover animation budget leftover to blow. Felt really out of place and random.

Don't get me wrong, I really like some of the characters, but the pacing is all off with this anime. The humour is misplaced and awkward, and the random flashbacks are used ineffectively and so frequently that it gets annoying pretty quickly.
And the character writing is...eh. Some characters are well written, but some of the side-characters are literally made to have their whole personality based around one weird little quirk and there is nothing else to them.

It's an alright seinen/shounen, but it just isn't as polished as some of the others out there.
