Review of Spy x Family Season 2
The second season of Spy x Family is here and if you loved the first season, then this season will make you feel right at home. I honestly don’t have too much to say about the second season since everything that made the first season enjoyable is present here. The dynamic between the Forgers is fun and goofy while giving each one the spotlight to shine this season, the comedic plotlines that our main characters are a part of add a lot of vibrancy to the show, and the characterization continues to build on top of the already rich depth to Anya, Loid, Yor, andeven Bond. Yor specifically gets the most spotlight this season with the Cruise Adventure arc which is the main course of Season 2 and I overall had a blast with this. I love the balance between the easy-going and wacky nature with the more intense action sequences and it continues to keep me invested in each Forger’s personal storylines. Anya as usual is the heart and soul of this series and I can never get enough of her banter with every other character in the anime. Loid and Bond surprisingly get a lot of screen time together to strengthen their relationship and I never expected to enjoy the scenes they share as much as I did. All of the supporting cast that we met last season are back and give us either a lot of entertaining moments when interacting with the main characters, or are even given some time to flesh them out in a way I never expected. Never in a million years would I ever be invested in characters like Damian and Franky, but this season gave them episodes centered on them, which helps breathe more life to them and makes them more than just side characters for the main cast to interact with. Again, Spy x Family Season 2 stays in line with what made the first season work so well, so if you enjoyed that, then you’ll definitely like this season as well.
