Review of Parasyte: The Maxim

Spoilers ahead Parasyte the maxim: notes Main character is unlikeable. "dickhead" arc lasts too many episodes and happens too early. He's an asshole. They even changed his hair and took off the glasses to make him more of a dick Love interest does nothing for first half of the series. Not interested All the plot points about the aliens are contrived and they just gain powers when it suits the plot Half the characters spend all episode trying to get themselves killed and it's annoying.Pro: they kill off the useless secondary love interest early.

MC can't even notice the detective following him around for a week

My favourite character, Uda-san, only appeared in two episodes. Deus ex machina saved his life at least

Plot makes little sense at times. Two mass killings in the same school and nobody bats an eye the second time? Or the first time?

Teens having sex just for the lols

Father is useless character. Ryoko dies too early.

After Shinichi gains the ability to cry again, he remains boring. MC has no charisma at all

The story tries to make us sympathize with the monsters who murdered thousands of humans just because... we eat animals? Who knows. But it's very stupid and knocks the rating down at least by 2

Environmental moral makes no sense. Advocating for human extermination is fucked up.

Music is atrocious

Why is the lesson of the final story that the MC learns it's okay for the parasites to eat humans because that's how life works?
