To me, this is one example of a high school story that could have based in real events. Given its a story about 3 different girls, the character development needs to happen fast, but it is done in such a way that it doesn't feel rushed. You can see why they all grow closer. The main character is likable because it's not a total wimp. Many of these kinds of Anime have male characters that are incapable of moving the story forward on their own and it annoys me. One of the things I like the most was the peek into the future after each girl's arch.It was a very nice touch.
In the end, I thought it was a very balanced show. Very well animated, characters I think could exist in real life and a likeable lead. Lengthwise it's short enough to still see the character development and not long enough to see filler episodes without any kind of substance.
