Review of Dorohedoro

The only thing stopping me from giving this series less than an overall 6, were the wacky characters and unique aesthetic. Regardless, for me... the pacing of this series was absolutely atrocious. It was filled with weird character moments, incoherent plot points, rushed scenes, etc. It made it really hard to follow the story - which barely felt easy to navigate or follow. Really disappointing because I feel like this could've been a great comedy series, but it fell flat. I honestly couldn't tell you how I managed to get through the series, I kept telling myself to drop it after every episode. But I feltobliged to latch onto it. This is definitely a series that has awesome characters, but failed entirely with the poor delivery and pacing. They were not handled correctly at all, especially considering how much I enjoyed the duo of Ebisu and Fujita. Two characters who fell by the way-side in terms of character progression.

Shoutout to the dynamic of Nikaido & Caimon / Fujita & Ebisu. The standout pairings of the series, they deserved better treatment. Nikaido also felt like a mishandled character, although she does have cool moments for herself, I feel as if it could've been fleshed out with more episodes (not entirely anyone's fault).

I've seen many people BOOM over the manga series, so I'll definitely check it out and see how this cool aesthetic is portrayed on-paper and through the pacing of the manga.
