I found this series very cute, but without a lot of depth. The story was relatively simple and cliched, which really cut down on the enjoyment. The basic premise of the story is that the main character has a young daughter and is an erotic gag manga artist, which he is trying to keep secret from his daughter. The wife/mother is not in the picture (why she is missing is revealed at the end of the series, and is also very cliched). While I loved the relationship between the dad and his daughter, I had a lot of difficulty "buying in" to the premise of the story.I just really didn't understand why the father felt so strongly about keeping his profession a secret from his daughter, and it made the tension in the story feel very artificial.

My favorite parts were the scenes featuring Hime (the daughter) and the Kakushi's manga assistants, who were very funny. I wish there had been more about the assistants, but they really weren't featured that much.

Each episode features a "flash-forward" to when Hime is eighteen, and the father is missing in these scenes. That mystery is what led me to finish the series, but unfortunately the resolution to the mystery is extremely cliched and not very satisfying.

Overall, the show was cute but not really much more than that.
