Review of given

Given is the rare anime that is able to be a bl without any eroticism, without any stereotyping, and with healthy and realistic relationships. Labeling Given as "just another bl" does it so much injustice. The complexity of each character and the development of the relationships are executed perfectly, and while watching Given, you see each of the characters grow. Given is able to portray so many emotions so well, and as you watch the characters develop, you grow alongside them. Given is the perfect balance of glee, despair, lust, love, and anticipation. There were moments where I was truly happy and enamored in cutemoments between Mafuyu and Uenoyama, and there were moments where I was balling my eyes out in despair. I also really commend whoever is behind the sound editing and soundtrack of this, because it is truly beautiful. In my opinion, it has a top 5 anime soundtrack and single-handedly the best song. I rarely give out 10/10's, but Given really deserves it.
