+ The best part of Chainsaw Man has always been the plot and themes, and the anime adaptation is no different + Great use of action, particularly in balancing hand-drawn elements with CG + The brief scenes of horror and suspense are very effective + Proactive editing and streamlining parts of the manga helps to keep the pacing fast + 12 unique ending themes! Wow! + I love the frenetic energy of the opening too ~ The show can be very violent and disgusting, if you're not into that ~ As an adaptation, the structure of a couple episodes is questionable; the pacing of the final episode in particular is somewhat uneven, and would've worked better if parts of Episode 11 and 12 were swapped
~ Fight scenes can be short, which might not be satisfying for those looking for a traditional shonen anime

= The anime adaptation lives up to the strong source material. Even as a manga, Chainsaw Man was always an unconventional shonen story. It's often silly, horny, bloody and gross, but it's never indulgent or thoughtless. The way I see it, Chainsaw Man is about how life is short, depressing and absolutely brutal, and how comfort can only be found in the little pleasures in life. Even without the fun characters and stunning visuals, that alone makes the anime worth watching.
