Warning possible Spoilers Little did Studio Ghibli know that they would go on to make amazing classics and it all started here with the adventure of a girl, a boy and a bunch of pirates looking for a hidden flying Castle. The story starts with Sheeta a young girl who encounters Pazu a young boy who wants to find the floating castle called Laputa, but they aren't the only ones looking for this ancient hidden secret. The story was very enjoyable, yes it was as good compared to Spirited Away of even Howl's Moving Castle, but it had better pacing than those two for some reason something feltoff with those two whereas here I didn't get that feeling, it was very entertaining watching Sheeta and Pazu search for Laputa it gave me an Indiana Jones sort of vibe with a touch of fantasy, it was also interesting how the magic stone that Sheeta had in her possession worked since you had to chant magical words in order for it do certain things like floating in the air or causing great destruction.
That's to say this wasn't a non-violent ride there were multiple points in the Movie/film where things really got out of hand like when a Robot went on a rampage or when Muska killed all of the army soldiers there moments in the Movie/film where it would get pretty dark.

The characters were pretty interesting, the relationship that developed between Sheeta and Yazu went very well and they looked great for each other considering they always watched out for each other.
Sheeta was a surprisingly capable girl even though she is a princess she can look after herself like when she had to do chores on the pirates ship and Pazu is adventurous and seems like a very positive person since very little got him down, the only time he seemed down was when he was forced to go home when the location of Laputa was discovered.
The pirates that Sheeta and Pazu encountered were a pretty funny bunch and provided the comedy for the Movie/film and then there is the main villain that is Muska who wanted the power that was within Laputa so he could use it to rule the world although he didn't really seem very intimidating compared to other villains I've seen in the past, then there is the army soldiers who are pretty much there as cannon fodder for Muska.

The artstyle as usual in Ghibli films was amazing it has the steampunk attribute that would be used in Howl's Moving Castle and once again it worked very well here and I liked the design of the flying ships and Laputa itself was done very well it reminded me of multiple ancient civilisations put together to form one big Castle.

There was a few chase sequences in the Movie/film that were thrilling and entertaining to watch like when Sheeta and Pazu were trying to outrun the pirates and the Army or when they had to navigate through a storm which was where the castle was, there were a bunch of moments that did keep my eyes plastered to the screen.

Overall I thought this was an entertaining Adventure and for Studio Ghibli's first outting this was pretty well done and paved the way for the even greater films they would do in the future so if you're a Ghibli fan or someone who loves adventures then this is definitely something to watch.
