Shana was an excellent anime as it takes a different look at the world of the living and the dead, and what happens when people die. The art work and character designs are spectacular, and the acting in the show (especially the female roles) are done fantastically. The story moves at a good pace and doesn't leave any holes, as far as i could tell, everything was answered by the end. The only down side is some of the secondary characters can get dumb or annoying and at times i thought they were completely useless to the show but its not so badthat it drags the rest of the anime down. The battle scenes are done quite well with lots of flashy magic effects and lighting contrasts that intensify the battles.

Overall excellent and the story does continue in season two so be sure to watch that, and so you know, the "movie" is just a retelling of the first few episodes with some added scenes and a new ending.
