This show gets WAYYYYYY to much hate for what it is. There are people that submitted a review back when there was only 35 episodes then never decided to go back to watch the show which I think is unfair, I personally hate people that rate animes after not fully watching the anime, if you do not like and choose not to finish it (And for Black Clover we are talking 35 out of 170 episodes) then that is fine, but do not go and rate the entire anime since you don't truly know how good or bad the anime is, if it didn't catchyou attention then that is fine but for the amount of hate this anime got early on, for it not even being close to finishing is so sad because the show really did become an amazing anime but I know those people that wrote those reviews back in 2018 never came back to the show and gave it a second chance.

There are also a good amount of people that missed the point of this anime and the whole message this anime is trying to send went over their head. For example, I saw someone say that "the plot is bad because there is a kid who isn't special and thats what supposed to make him special", then proceeded to laugh at it like it made no sense... Like yea the whole point of that gimmick is to try and show people that you do not have to fit in with the people around you to "Stand Out" or "Be Cool", the whole point is to just be who you are and no matter if you are full of, or lacking talent, you are special and that no matter what happens, you should always be who you are and never change to please anyone, even if they are people you look up to telling you to do something, just be who you are and don't let anyone tell you that you arent special and that you are lesser than anyone.

Now that I got that out of the way, let me talk about the show... The show as a whole is a 9 from start to finish, the only real flaws that I can give this show is that the pacing is sometimes all over the place and unpredictable and that there is a single arc in the entire show that is kinda pointless. What do I mean by this, well the pacing is sometimes all over the place in the sense that something could happen and you could say to yourself "Oh thats gonna take atleast 6 episodes to solve", then the very next episode, that problem you thought was gonna be a long standing problem is already solved, and its the same way around, there are some moments where the solution to the current problem seems very easy to fix and should only take a episode or two to resolve, then it for some reason takes 6+ episodes.. but that only happens about once or twice.

The art is something else that is bashed on to much, I see people giving the art rating a 3 because, "It's just generic anime art style", ok? When did the generic/traditional art style of anime become bad, not to mention there are moments where it goes from classic cliché anime look to a really cool and impactful manga art style that looks like pencil sketching's, which in my opinion is underrated in itself, shows that have moments like that are really cool because sometimes they take the literal manga sketching's and put them in the show and they kind of find a way to incorporate the two which is really cool and why I gave it a 9...

The characters is something else I really enjoyed about the show, I saw another review that said the first arc is simply Asta screaming, which I wont entirely deny but its not like those moments of him screaming are for no reason, the entire first arc shows the struggles that Asta has gone through from a young age and how he never gave up on his dream, even as a kid when he gets his ass kicked by a grown man, so I think the "Obsessive Asta Screaming" is fine since it is only for the first arc and its literally showing all the torment he went through as a person who has to live in a world full of magic while he has non of it. All around character development is a little generic sure, in the sense that people look up to the main character because he is "Inspirational" but again I don't see how things that are "Generic" or "Cliché" are bad, they are just using a platform and layout that people have always been appealed to and have always liked and I feel like people are only starting to dislike it now to hop on the "I hate black clover band wagon" and its kind of ridiculous since I look at these other peoples lists and see they watched shows with very similar layout and story telling as this one and they rate the story in that show a 7-9 but rate black clover a 3...

Overall: I understand its a show that is a hit or miss from people, you either love it or you hate it, but dont base your opinion on the entire show if you only watch the first 30 episodes and dont even give the show a chance to fully develop its plot and lay the foundation for their characters, because like I said before that is unfair to not only the anime, but also to future watchers, if you wanna watch the show, I would say it is almost a must watch, or at least a must try anime, this show in my opinion deserves more love that what has been happening to it recently, to be fair it has actually blown up quite a bit recently which is nice, but overall, I feel like it deserves even more, but it just sucks because I know there are people out there that have been deterred from watching it because of all the BS hate revolving around the show... I know a lot of people dont read or really listen to reviews, hell most people probably wont make it this far, but if you do, and you are deterred from watching it because of all the hate around it, don't listen to it, a good portion of the shows hate comes from people who never really gave the show a chance to grow and become what it is now, granted there are people out there that watched the whole thing and still gave it like a 5 or lower, but that is fine as long as you gave it a chance, dont just abandon the show because of shit you have heard, give it a real chance and just see what happens...

Overall I give the show a 9 and I see people say that "It tries to rival to original big 3 of Naruto, Dragon Ball Z and One Piece", and as someone who has watched all the movies of dragon ball, and has been so infatuated with dragon ball my whole life, for me to say this show competes with dragon ball z is hard for me to say, but i can confidently say it does, and despite what other people say, yes it really does rival the old big 3 and deserves a better chance than what people have been giving it.
