Review of The King's Avatar
Story: Almost similar to the anime's such as log horizon and SAO except that the character Xiu is fired from being the elite of the elite. We begin with the character who already was the king of the game. Needles to say, the story continues with Xiu starting over the game and as he restarts his life as the overpowered noob of the game. The story becomes really mediocre and fair at this point. I did read some of the manga of Quanzhi Gaoshou, the studio did miss out the *main aspects of the game* like what is the objective of the game? How does the game system work? How does each server differs from each other ? How elite teams are ranked- like the fight against other teams or earning points by defeating high level bosses? The anime missed out the basics of the basics in this areas.
Art: Thoroughly enjoyed how each character design is very unique in its aspect and how the design of the environment surrounding the character is. Especially how each level of fights and surrounding matches with the bosses are designed. I believe Quanzhi Gaoshou had more to offer in art area than other categories.
Sound: If you are watching anime in terms of Chinese language, it will take time for people to adjust. It took time for me to adjust from Japanese to Chinese level of speaking but I do want to recommend the studio to tone down the level of speed of the characters are speaking at. Sometimes, the subtitles are like 0.01 seconds and vanishes off, and I had to rewind to see what they had to say. Again, the sound is fast paced, so I urge you to adjust yourselves if you have just gave this anime a shot. Once adjusted, it will become natural for you to watch other Chinese anime to.
Character: Again, the development of the character has been seriously lacking, its like watching a NEET playing the game for 7 days a week and the only thing he does differently is sleep. Most of the time, characters are really lacking in emotion sense. Not much is seen in the development of conversations, where our main character only interacts against his former rivals and his ex partner of the game (also the characters he is partner with). Other thing i want to point is the character fighting skills, its highly repetitive and feels like everything he does as story progress is repetitive. The only good point I can give for the character is how smart he is after all, and how he is able to use environment to his advantage. That is something to look after each episode as he brings in new tactics and strategy in dealing with each level of different bosses.
Enjoyment: Needless to say, I did enjoy majority of the anime. It is sad to see that sometimes that developers and studio miss out the main the aspects of the story. I believe Quanzhi Gaoshou has more to offer in different categories rather than the art. Quanzhi Gaoshou is that type of anime that you will watch casually and forget about which episode where you in the next day. The only thing I can give you in this is that
1. The tactics and level of strategy the main characters plays.
2. The art design ( I enjoy good art. )
3. Different types of fight against each level of bosses.
4. The tension between his former team mates.
5. and how powerful is he?
Overall: Satisfactory anime if you want to watch something casual and just there for the sake of watching it.
