Review of The 8th Son? Are You Kidding Me?

I can sum this one up by saying at least they got the title correct in English. The 8th Son........Are You Kidding Me? I actually watched it all? It is thanks to the abundance of time I have found myself with due to "Rona" that I watched this past episode 1. I do not think there was any aspect to this production can be called better than "poorly executed" except maybe the sound design, which was just ok. The soundtrack was ok for what it is though some of the choices on when music came in left me a little baffled. The story is a generic fantasyisekai cliche fest where nothing unpredictable will happen.

The Characters could have been isekai'd from any other generic isekai/fantasy and arrived in this world a little more braindead. There was no character progress. If anything protag-kun regressed in ability to have a voice as the story progressed.

The animation was mediocre at the best and generally looked like a slideshow at the few times it could have done something to set itself apart from all the other generic isekai trash that has been cropping up. I do not need to go into the quality of what little cg there was.....Berserk 2016 was better.

I did not enjoy my time with this show....that said, I didn't hate it either. I think apathy sums up my feelings and expectations.
