A fantastic but flawed anime. Mob Psycho II delivers the same kind of high quality comedy and action that you'd come to expect after such a fantastic debut season. What amazes me is the depth of interesting characters that this anime creates, especially it's leads in Mob, Reigen (Who is one of my all time favorite characters) and Dimple. But, the supporting cast is also lovable and interesting. I mentioned in my review of season 1 that I would like to see more of the Body Improvement Club and they delivered. Mob Psycho II delivered in many ways. Action, drama, comedy, character growth, it was all there. Watching Mob grow and seeing how it effected his relationship with Reigen was truly the highlight of the arc. As was the battle in Episode 5. The fights in Mob Psycho are amazing, but this season took the cake. The battle in Episode 5 betwen Mob and Mogami was one for the ages. As was the battle between the Scars, Mob's friends and Shimazaki, the Claw member who could teleport and predict moves.

The whole anime was very good, but it wasn't without its problems, of which I had two:

1. The main protagonist, Toichirou, was too shallow for an anime so good at creating characters. Shimazaki and Serizawa, his underlings, were more interesting than he was. His whole motivation was just: "I'm strong so I should rule the world." That's 1980's villain anime motivations. Mob Psycho could do much better. Although the fight between him and Mob was great.

2. Too many fake outs. The anime makes you think that tragedy has struck Mob and crew and then swerve out of it ALOT. (MINOR SPOILER) It got to the point of when a certain character has a psychic explosion set off right in his face, I didn't even flinch. I knew the Dues Ex Machina would arrive and it did. I know this is supposed to be a happier kind of anime, but you can only pretend to kill people so often before it loses any shock value. You have to pull the trigger at least once for it to have some impact later on.

Other than that, the anime was very good and is highly rated for a reason.
