Review of Parasyte: The Maxim
At the time of selecting this to watch, Parasyte was top 20 on the "top 100 anime" list I had on hand. "Seems promising," I had thought. I should've known better. Parasyte is a messy conglomeration of Death Note, Attack on Titan, and more that I can't think of at the moment. SPOILERS AHEAD 1. Death Note: What is true justice? -> What is true environmentalism? 2. Attack on Titan: Gotou's (the boss) final form??? His neck is his weak spot!! Why does the MC Shinichi swoon over his right hand Migi more than his girlfriend? Why didn't his girlfriend break up with him immediately after he threw adead dog into a trash can? Why is there no further explanation about parasites???
Is this anime really as critically acclaimed as animes such as Death Note? Parasyte is just so comically bad. The most emotionally stimulated I felt during this watch was when Shinichi threw the dead dog in the trash, and when I thought his girlfriend finally died.
This anime was so dry I had to switch it up between dub, sub, all on 2x speed.
