Review of Devilman: Crybaby

On style alone this show could easily be a 7. The rough/unorthodox animation style, the ultraviolent action and the hypersexual imagery, are all a breath of fresh air to from all the shonen I usually watch. However, the plot is truly intruiging too. Without giving too much away it delves deep into the theme of what is good and evil on a micro and macro level as well as the theme of the will to change. My only negative criticism is that I feel like more time was needed at the start of the series to develop the central characters and allow me to feel astronger connection to them before throwing them into the events of the story.

Apart from the rushed character development, this show is worth the watch for anyone looking for something atypicl yet exceptional.
